Popular Business Opportunities

Dear Reader and Friend

Business opportunities are everywhere but there are some businesses that stand out more than others because of customer demands and the market trends. It is actually hard to predict where the business environment will be going a few years from now because every year, more businesses are closing while at the same time a lot of businesses are opening up. However, there are some businesses that never go out of trend because it sells commodity products. So here are some suggestions on the kind of businesses you can put up in the near future.

1. Food businesses – obviously, every individual needs to eat whether they like it or not so getting into a food business is bound to be profitable if you know the taste and preference of the market. There are several ways you can enter this business, the first is setting up a food stall or a restaurant where you will sell the products yourself on a daily basis. The second is to manufacture the food and distribute it to retailers; think of cereals and potato chips which are packaged and ready to be consumed.

2. Agri-tourism- this kind of business has been generating a lot of attention lately because of its focus on nature and lifestyle. Agri-tourism enables people to enjoy themselves through picnics and other activities while being close to nature at the same time.

3. Personal catering – this kind of business has been around for years, yet, only a few people had taken advantage of this opportunity because they think that the market is already crowded. But the truth is there is a high demand for personal caterers who will organize and prepare food on special occasions. You can also offer services such as packaged lunch or dinner for busy individuals, be sure to provide healthy and affordable food though so that customers will continually patronize your products. This business will surely be a hit if it is marketed properly.

4. Financial planning – a lot of individuals want to invest their money in the right investment vehicles but they do not know where to start. You can become one of the financial planners that give these individuals the advice they need to get started on their investments. Likewise, you will also profit from this endeavor because you will charge a certain fee for your advice.

5. Pet care and pet grooming – many people love their pets but they are too busy to look out for them on a daily basis. However, they want to make sure that their pets are in good hands. This is where you will come in, you can establish a business that look after these pets while the owner is away. In fact, you can offer related services such as pet grooming and training to derive better profitability.

These are just some business opportunities you can get into; there are many more opportunities you can explore on your own to start operating your own business now.

Budgeting Your Money When You Own A Business

Dear Reader and Friend

One of the most difficult things to do when you start a new business is putting together a budget. Without any financial history on which to base income and expenses, it may seem like guesswork, but as part of any business plan a tentative budget can be established with some thought and anticipation for the future.

In most businesses there are two main categories, income and expense. Under your expense category there can be several sub-categories often falling into two main areas of controllable expenses and uncontrollable. While many business owner claim they can control every expense involved in their business, they are simply kidding themselves as some things such as utility cost, the amount of rent and other so-called fixed costs can, and do change, with the owner having no control.

Other expenses such as payroll, insurance and advertising can be subject to a budget, but they are considered controllable expenses. If the business begins to fall off, you can control some of these expenses by laying off employees and cutting back on advertising. However, living by a budget will help maintain profitability in many respects but can also turn against you in the long run.

Depending on the viability of your business it often is a better investment to bite the financial bullet on employee wages and still provide good customer service to the remaining customers until business picks back up. By trying to everything yourself not only will you burn out quickly, but is no one is taking care of the customers, it will not take long until there are no more customers to care for.

There are two ways to budget your business money and that is through set dollar amounts and percentage of income. Many businesses will budget their controllable expenses by the dollar and non-controllable by percentage of income. Obviously a good part of the owner’s time is going to be based on bringing money into the business and how much they have to spend on controllable expenses will be in direct relation to income.

For example, a company earning $20,000 a month in income has budgeted six percent for payroll, providing $1,200 for payroll. If the income level rises to $50,000 the budgeted payroll percent does not change but the dollars available for payroll climbs to $3,000. With an obvious increase in business to create the additional income, the owner will probably need the extra help to take care of business.

There are many other expenses that fall into the payroll account such as worker’s compensation charges, Social Security tax paid by the employer and paid vacation time or other perks determined by the employer. While a budget may be difficult to establish for a new business, it is a necessary evil for all business owners.

A Basic Guide To The Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) Network

Dear Reader and Friend

When surfing on the internet most of the advertisements are referring to the multi-level marketing. Maybe you just decided to get your home business running and you ask yourself what the heck is all about multi-level marketing and you really get confused about all the advertisements and you don’t know what to do. Let’s get a little bit to the basic that you know what all is about.

Multi-level marketing (MLM) is also referred to as network marketing. The MLM is essentially a type of business model that combines direct marketing with a type of franchising. The phrase business model describes a vast range of informal and formal models that are used by companies to represent various aspects of business, such as operational processes, organizational structures, and financial forecasts. The function of the MLM business is enrolling nonsalaried salespeople to sell products for the companies and meanwhile earn additional sales commissions based on the sales of people who are enrolled into their down line, an organization of people that includes direct recruits, recruits, and recruits and so on. This is an arrangement that is similar to franchises where royalties are paid from the sales of individual franchise operations to the franchiser as well as to an area or region manager.

There can be multiple levels of people receiving royalties from one person’s sales. New MLM members may be required to pay for their own training and marketing materials, or to buy sometimes a significant amount of inventory (merchandise) to start their career.

The compensation plans vary from one MLM business to the other, but there are basic plans in place. The Unilevel or Stair step Breakaway plans are the oldest and most popular in the MLM business. These plans features two types of distributors either managers or non-managers. The pay method of these plans includes Base shop overrides where there are overrides of managers from their subordinate non-managers. This method is the same as any other type of sales organization. Generational overrides are overrides of managers from the base shop of managers who were previously their subordinate. Most plans compensate at least three generations of such managers.

Executive bonuses are commissions for managers who exceed a posted sales quota. For example, a certain percentage of the total company sales revenue may go to a bonus pool that is shared monthly to managers who exceed for example $10,000 in that month. Commissions are based on the aspect of cycles, where a distributor is paid a fixed amount whenever both legs achieve a certain number of sales units each. Commissions are paid incrementally when the sales volume in each leg matches.

In recent years, the MLM business has seen an image problem due to its resemblance to the illegal pyramid or other similar schemes. MLM businesses operate in the United States in all 50 states and in more than 100 countries all around the globe. Many pyramid schemes try to present themselves as legitimate MLM businesses. In the legitimate MLM companies, commissions are earned only on sales of the company’s products and/or services. No money may be earned from recruiting alone through sign-up fees, though money earned from the sales of members recruited is one attraction of MLM arrangements.

A commonly adopted test of legality is that MLMs follow the so-called 70% rule which prevents members “inventory loading” in order to qualify for additional bonuses. The 70% rule requires participants to sell 70% of previously purchased inventory before procuring new orders. There are however variations in interpretations of this rule.

Some attorneys insist that 70% of purchased inventory should be sold to people who are not participants in the business, while many MLM companies allow for self-consumption to be a significant part of the sales of a participant. The Federal Trade Commission offers advice for potential MLM members to help them identify those activities that could be scams.

Have You Started With Your New Year’s Resolution Yet?

Dear Reader and Friend

You know the winter will change over to spring without doing nothing of our part it’s just the law of nature. In case you don’t like the winter its just a matter of time maybe a few weeks or so and it will start the spring with nicer and warmer days where you can sit outside in your garden or in front of your house and just enjoy the beautiful afternoon sun in your chair and warm you up. Or you can be in your garden and grill at night your delicious rips or barbeque isn’t that inspiring?

But what happened with your New Year’s Resolutions have you forgotten all about it? You don’t think that they will happen the same way as the seasons that they will come automatically…do you? No, no way you have to do something, you have to make your proposition and actually start working on it, you have to get in to the mindset and you have to change your lifestyle the way you dreamed of it or the way you told to yourself at the end of the passed year that you will change for the better.

Didn’t you make a proposition to become wealthier this year?

With wealthier it doesn’t have to mean that you will get immediately a raise of a few thousand dollars…and paying off your debts with your credit card and so on you know what I mean.

Sure having more money gives you a certain freedom to enjoy more in your life like vacations, a new house, or remodeling your house or dining out when you want it makes you feel good having more money.

But I also think wealthier in health and in spirit don’t you think that it is also important for many areas of your life?

If you haven’t thought about it when starting your new home business then its time to think it over. Or maybe you are one of the thousands of people who started a home business but don’t get anywhere? They jump from one program that promise to get money within a few hours or days, to another program but after a few months they found out that they stay still on the same spot where they have started their journey and they didn’t move forward at all.

If you are one of those people then its time to do something about it and stop thinking of running a marathon before you haven’t actually learned to crawl. Don’t be so naïve to think that you’ll be rich over night, nobody, maybe only a few lucky ones have achieved it with winning the lottery but to win the lottery you have to buy a ticket and you need money to do so. So why don’t you focus first on getting money but not with the lottery no with focusing on your business, don’t spend your hard earned money in something that doesn’t work…spend your money wisely. Go ones in your life the correct way to do so and don’t think that you can be rich without any help…you have to learn how to do the steps from scratch and learn to crawl, to walk and then you can run at the speed you like. But I tell you to do so, you need a mentor a teacher a person who is doing it for many years and is experienced. I tell you I have thought the same way time back and I believed in all that hype and promises and lies until I told to myself stop it…you are not walking you are not moving you are just spending without any result.

This moment I never forget was the turning point in my life and from that moment on I started to crawl and after a time I walked and you know what…it really felt good and the more I walked the better I felt and the more self security I got and the more I enjoyed it. You know what this is not a secret it happens in nature all the time everything needs a sort of time to get growing, the same happens with the flowers they don’t come to fruition within a moment or over night this happens only in child-books and in Alice’s Wonderland but not in the real world.

You are a grown up person I suppose and you do not believe in things like that okay you have a dream and a vision you like to go after but this dream or vision will not come true until you do something for it. It takes work, it takes action, it takes consistency, it takes resistance, it takes perseverance and it takes focus on one goal…a better lifestyle or environment for you and your beloved ones.

The moment you understand that you’ll achieve your goals and you will get your resolutions you promised to yourself.

Don’t try to do everything by yourself ask for help get a mentor who will guide you towards to your goals.

Does Home Business Cause Stress?

Dear Reader and Friend

Is your work at home business causing you too much stress due to some aspects you never had before?

You know most people want to work at home because they hate to travel to their work or they hate to have their boss standing behind and looking all the time over their shoulder. When examine all these inconveniences it appears like a perfect opportunity of working at home having your own hours and not having anyone to tell you what to do.

Frankly it is a nice feeling. Unfortunately amidst all this home business paradise, there will be some stress involved and if the stress begins to overtake the amount of fun you should be having when working at home, it may be time to think about what happened and what causes this type of stress.

You know when working for someone else you have a regular paycheck at least once a week or any other week. You always knew what to expect and what day you’ll receive your payment. When overtime was offered it meant extra money and again you knew when it would be given to you. Chances are there was a health care plan you could join at a reasonable cost and some other benefits you suddenly miss at all. Believe me lack of regular payment and lack of benefits as health care and paid vacations, retirement benefits, in some cases sick days and personal time are facts that can produce a kind of stress you never thought about before.

When you considering a home based business opportunity, all of those things are going to go away. When you are working at home you are earning money and most times you’ll get paid once the job turned in and approved. However the amount of money you receive may be a little different. Sometimes it will be more or sometimes it will be less. In case you are working with different companies, the income may come at different times although the different streams of income can add up to a tidy sum, there will be some stress involved if one or more of the streams is running a little slow.

It will be a rare home business opportunity in which the pay is made on the same day of the week by all the different clients or customers and until you learn to adjust to this new style of income schedule, it can be a stressful environment.

Additional every time you receive a pay check you have to separate a bit for your tax pay and this also put a strain on you family budget. However, if the right plans are not made it will make income tax time much more stressful that it needs to be.

Insurance concerns are high on everyone’s list and while there are many programs offering affordable insurance for home based business owners, they may a different opinion as to what is affordable. As a business owner you will need liability insurance in case someone is injured on your property or if you cause damage to someone through your actions or inactions. There is always a lot more involved that you don’t think of when starting your own business.

For most home based business opportunities, a regular, structured income can relieve a lot of the stress but this is something you have to design on your own. The income will come but not always in one lump payment and getting used to it can take a few months of struggling until you get used to it.

But with the right structure and plan of your home business you will overcome this irregular situation and you get used to it in a short time. Until then you’ll face a certain stress you are not used to especially when you have a family but it depends on how you manage your financial situation and how much can you stand this type of stress environment?

But never ignore this type of thoughts because in my long time career as a business owner I have seen a lot of friends who fail at these relatively easy issues. Sometimes it can be difficult when you are accustomed to receive your pay check every week because your outgoing expends are planned according these pay checks coming in like clock work.

Most people fail as a home based business owner because they are not used to this irregular income streams and financial situation.

Internet Marketing At Its Best

Dear Reader and Friend

With the constant and fast growth of today’s computer age, there are completely new ways of marketing your business especially when your business performs most of the transactions online. When reaching for your online customers, marketing on the internet becomes the main target for your publishing efforts as it will attract the customers to your business or your site.

There are two different types of online marketing, one is business marketing, the other is website marketing. With web site marketing your goal is to have people searching for particular services or products and find your web site while performing an online search through the major search engines. There are many facets involved in web site marketing and once your business is able to get them all linked together; there is a good chance that you will experience a major influx of new visitors to your web site.

One the other hand there are businesses that strongly promote their availability aimed at the internet users more so than the search engines. Buying internet advertisements or taking advantage of free advertisements, sending out emails and other promotional marketing materials that are designed exclusively to bring visitors to their online web sites, are just a few of the online marketing strategies being used today.

One of the things to remember with online marketing is to have your home page designed in a way to attract your future customers. If there is little traffic in space, there will be few people who will see your sign to stop by so your efforts should be focused on getting people in your space. Looking at it from another perspective, there may be over a thousand people selling a certain brand of personal health care items and they all have a web site, and all provided free when they signed up and they all look alike and have the same attraction.

If a person searches for a specific brand name, there is only little hope that the site’s poping up is your site. If you own one of these thousands of sites, you will need specific marketing skills to guide all those traffic to your very own site. In order to influence the traffic to your site you can do so by pay-per-click advertising you pay for the number of clicks you get from the visitors to your site.

Affiliate marketing is another popular method of bringing visitors to your site. As a business owner, you agree to pay a certain percentage as a commission for every sale your affiliates make through their site links. This way you’ll get quite a lot of traffic or visitors to your site. The best of all you are gaining free advertising and you only pay to your affiliates when your site makes a sale. While some link exchange programs have been successful in the past, today they can make you trouble. If you have too many unrelated links to your business or site it may turn the search engines against you and you lose important traffic or customers to your site.

What Are The Hottest Products On The Net?

Dear Reader and Friend

You are a starter or a newcomer in the internet marketing but you have no clue what you like to offer but you are quite sure that you will go along with your home business.

You are the person with persistence and when you have something in your mind you like to stick with it until you succeed, am I right?...I thought so.

It reminds me a good fellow of mine he was so obstinate about an own online business, and one day he took the decision to start his online business. He didn’t know anything about internet but he had this idea and everyone was telling him that the internet is only a fraud and you only lose money with it and only the guys are getting rich who sell you the products. He never listened to anyone and even his wife got mad at him because of the debts he produced over months. He spend money on different websites and he worked like a mule with an energy I really was impressed. He bought books and programs and software and he never relaxed or took a rest… no he struggled and read and subscribed to almost everything he came across. He was thinking that this is the only way to get his word spread out on the internet.

But you know what, he made a mistake most of the starters make; he didn’t have a real plan or strategy of what he was doing. He just thought that it might not be that much a difference than an ordinary offline business you just tell friends and people you know what you are doing and you have a business.

Frankly every business needs some strategy when you try to sell hard products or what-so-ever. If he would have had a plan or a strategy he could have succeed faster than the way he succeed.

But let’s talk about your business now you need to have a plan when you start a business you need to know what you are going to do. The next thing you have to think about is you need a strategy; you need to know how you are going to do it.

Although you can start an internet business with a low budget or almost nothing you have to know what you are selling or offering to your future customers. That’s why you need a plan and a strategy otherwise you’ll be lost in space and it take you too long to get results. You can look out for places who offer you almost everything on one site where you can in the comfort of your home look up what is new and what is actual. Don’t forget the internet is changing constantly and you have to update your knowledge frequently.

It is easy when you start a business to get overwhelmed because there is so much information out there that the newcomers like my fellow fall easy into the tramp and buy whatever they offer as long as they get rich fast…and believe me that only happens once in a while and let’s call them a few lucky guys.

Every business is hard work and a lot of experience. But on the other hand everyone likes information, about health, diet, cooking, fitness, losing weight, business and the list goes on and on…

Everyone wants to know how to get rid of some pain, and weight and how to get a nice looking body to impress his male and female friends or he thinks of remodeling his home and looks for information, you get the idea. We live in a society which is full of stress and short on time so you wake up at night and you cannot find sleep you go online and look for some information products how to sleep without problems or how to sleep fast. You look up for natural products or what ever you find you buy it, download it, and read it. All this from your home imagine you want to buy something on weekends without leaving your home many years back this was impossible but now with the internet business it works 24/7 and this is the real advantage of the internet.

That’s why you need a plan and a strategy for your business if you have a passion for something that people are looking or starving for and pay good money for it than try to get it out to as much people as possible. The people out there are happy to find a product they need and on top of it you get paid for it.

That is one reason why all good information products are “hot” everyone wants to get as much information as possible to make his life easier and more comfortable. When starting a business think about it.
